OSI’s David McDonald Asserts That The Company Will Always Maintain Its Root Values While Adapting To Change:

OSI Group’s longtime president David McDonald has been with the company for over 30 years. He began as a project manager and moved hrough the ranks until reaching his current positions of Chief Operating Officer, president and board member. Over the years, David McDonald has put his visionary leadership to use in improving OSI Group’s sustainability.

David McDonald has always believed in accepting the inevitability of change. This attitude of keeping up with a changing business world in a global economy has greatly benefitted OSI Group as far as solidifying the company’s sustainability. David has picked up on important consumer trends such as the value of labelling, locally sourcing and carefully selecting origin of products. David has also had the wisdom to let his managers in the field be his eyes and ears. These people know the tastes and cultures of the markets they work in.

Another thing that helps OSI’s sustainability is the acquisition of quality company’s. Baho Food a food supplier from the Netherlands has been brought under OSI Group Control. The same is true for U.K. company Flagship Europe which is now rebranding as Creative Foods Europe. These two companies extend OSI Group’s reach in Europe and bulk up OSI Group’s already impressive portfolio.

CEOCFO Magazine recently interviewed David about his career and the OSI president had some interesting things to say. Regarding OSI Group’s vision, David asserts that it has always been about growth. Growth and improvement are the cornerstones of the OSI Group philosophy. OSI will always strive to be the worlds top food provider. OSI Group is known for letting its customers be the inspiration for innovation and offering the best in food solutions.

OSI delights in helping develop a new menu or work with a customer on sourcing. The company takes its biggest point of pride from watching its customers succeed. David feels that this is the true mark of success. When questioned about how a business adapts to a changing world, David asserts that as the business world changes, quickly adapting to change is necessary to maintain an advantage competitively. When asked about how he maintains his passion for business after all these years, David McDonald asserts that he maintains it because every day is different and has new challenges. He also maintains that OSI Group will always maintain its core values but will also always adapt over time to the changing needs of its customers.
