Michael Burwell served Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP for 31 years before making a move to Willis Towers Watson. He gained experience in the insurance field due to the eleven years he spent working on audit clients. He entered partnership status in 1997 and began working in the transaction services practice based out of Detroit. He was given the leadership of the central region for Pricewaterhouse leading to his service as the leader of the United States transaction services.


Mike Burwell became the CFO for Pricewaterhouse in 2007. He was then additionally named as the COO across the United States business in 2008. By 2012 he was serving the Global and United States Transformation as the Vice Chairman. He made the changes necessary to optimize the organizational impact of numerous internal functions including Technology, Finance, Global Strategic Sourcing and Human Capital. Michael Burwell additionally acted as the senior relationship partner for many clients in this position. He was an important asset in expanding and building the internal shared sources for Pricewaterhouse.


Today Mike Burwell is the CFO for Willis Towers Watson. He has an excellent education and attended Michigan State University. He earned a Bachelor Arts in Business Administration and became a certified public accountant. He was honored as the Alumnus of the year for Michigan State University in 2010. Part of his success is attributed to his passion for his profession. He usually begins his days at 5am. He once stated even while traveling he still makes his bed because it gives him a sense of accomplishment.


Mike Burwell enjoys riding his Peloton bike and will try to find one even if he is traveling. He places a lot of thought into what he can accomplish every single day.
