Michael Burwell served Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP for 31 years before making a move to Willis Towers Watson. He gained experience in the insurance field due to the eleven years he spent working on audit clients. He entered partnership status in 1997 and began working in the transaction services practice based out of Detroit. He was given the leadership of the central region for Pricewaterhouse leading to his service as the leader of the United States transaction services.

By 2012 he was serving the Global and United States Transformation as the Vice Chairman.
